Riccardo Olmi

INRES/ Coop Italia, Florence/I, ICT Manager Digitale Innovationen/Spezialprojekte

Riccardo Olmi is ICT Manager at Inres, the Italian National Consortium for the design and realization of Coop’s supermarkets, where he works from 2007. He specializes in projects with a high degree of innovation, linking together the two areas of Information Technology and Marketing. Recent significant experiences include participating to the realization of Coop’s Supermarket Of The Future in Milan and, before that, to the realization of Coop’s Future Food District at EXPO 2015 in Milan, Italy.

Riccardo takes part to several conferences on retail and technology, where he talks about projects he manages at Inres and participates to panels as an expert in the field. Formerly, he worked for a private society developing projects in the field of e-tourism in partnership with Italian public institutions. In 2004 Riccardo graduated in Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Florence, where he also worked as a researcher until 2007.

Coop’s Supermercato del Futuro in Bicocca/Milan

Coop’s Supermarket of the Future is conceived as an experimental arena where shopping logics are tailored to the expectations of a young and well aware public. The main challenge has been to transfer the technologies developed during Expo 2015 into a real supermarket and make them of ordinary use.
